I always ensure that the vintage clothing in the shop is bang on trend, so click on the links below to see how you can get the latest look without the high street tag.

Mad Men

Betty Draper: The Housewife

Betty Draper from Mad Men showing Vintage Style

STYLE:

Betty is a housewife. She is a trophy wife for her trophy husband. On the surface everything is clean and ideal, but underneath Betty wants to be wanted. Betty’s frustrations are cleverly masked under smiles, prom dresses and neatly finger curled hair. Betty is one of our favourite characters in Mad Men – she is Grace Kelly with a cigarette and a cocktail!

VINTAGE ICONS:

Lana Turner, Donna Reed, Grace Kelly, Veronica Lake.

Joan Holloway: The Office Hussy!

Joan Holloway from Mad Men showing Vintage Style

STYLE:

Joan is the woman who will use her sexuality as power. She knows her assets and she is not afraid to use them. For the office Joan chooses to wear tight fitting jumpers with well fitted pencil skirts, satin shifts with an array of “Kelly” handbags to keep her lipstick in. For the evening Miss Holloway wears fur coats, silk dresses with seamed stockings and a smile.

VINTAGE ICONS:

Marilyn Monroe, Jane Mansfield, Diana Dors.

Peggy Olsen: The Copywriter

Peggy Olsen from Mad Men showing Vintage Style

STYLE:

Peggy is a woman in a man’s world and just as she starts to make a difference she takes two paces back. Peggy does not conform like the other girls in the office, she chooses to wear neck ties, buttoned up dresses and calf length skirts.

VINTAGE ICONS:

Judy Garland, Julie Andrews, Katherine Hepburn.
